Location: UK‑Wide Coverage, Field‑Based Role with Remote Administration
Role Overview
UKAS is seeking an experienced private‑sector dentist to act as a Technical Expert supporting assessments of dental practice certification schemes under ISO/IEC 17065 (Denplan). This flexible, self‑employed role can be undertaken alongside existing clinical commitments.
About the Role
As a Technical Expert, you will:
- Attend assessment visits alongside a UKAS Assessor
- Provide verbal technical insight on private‑sector dental practice operations
- Highlight whether clinical, operational and regulatory expectations are applied appropriately
- Support the Assessor in understanding sector‑specific practices, terminology and workflows
You will not produce reports or lead assessments.
Requirements
- Qualified dentist with substantial private‑sector experience
- Experience in running, delivering or managing private dental practice services
- Strong understanding of private‑sector compliance expectations (GDC, infection control, decontamination, radiation, governance, emergencies, complaints, indemnity, CPD)
- NHS‑only experience is not sufficient
