Director of Digitalisation

As our Director of Digitalisation, you will play a pivotal role in modernising our systems, unlocking the power of data and embedding new technologies, including AI, across our organisation.

The Role

As a member of our senior leadership team, you will shape and deliver UKAS’ digital vision, transforming how we operate, make decisions and serve our customers.

You will lead the shift to a modern, secure, modular and AI-enabled digital ecosystem, enhancing efficiency, resilience and scalability across our services.

What You’ll Be Doing

Drive Digital Strategy & Innovation

• Define and deliver a multi-year digital and technology strategy aligned to UKAS’ mission
• Harness data and AI to generate insight, improve decision-making, and enhance market impact
• Oversee procurement and partner agreements to ensure value, innovation and alignment

Deliver Operational Excellence

• Transform and standardise processes across technical operations and customer journeys
• Monitor performance through dashboards, KPIs and business intelligence
• Elevate digital customer experiences

Support Data, Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Support robust cybersecurity and data governance frameworks
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation and audit requirements
• Support business continuity across all digital and IT services

Inspire People & Influence Change

• Build and lead a high-performing digital transformation function
• Partner with senior leaders to embed digital thinking across the organisation
• Represent UKAS in cross-government and international digital initiatives

Deliver Transformation at Scale

• Lead a portfolio of complex, multi-year transformation programmes
• Ensure delivery to scope, budget and timelines
• Drive organisational change and increase digital maturity across UKAS

What We’re Looking For

• A degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Digital Transformation, or a related field (additional qualifications in cybersecurity, data, risk or programme management are a plus)
• A proven track record of leading large-scale digital transformation in complex organisations
• Experience driving operational excellence and process optimisation
